Our Story
From workplace risk management to governing the AI systems that shape people's lives
Founded
C. Douglas & Associates, Inc.
The Inclusion Learning Lab is the learning, leadership, and workforce transformation division of C. Douglas & Associates, Inc. Founded in 1999, the firm has spent more than two decades helping organizations address complex workplace, leadership, risk, and talent challenges.
As the Work Changed
The Inclusion Learning Lab was created
As the world of work changed, our work evolved with it. The Inclusion Learning Lab was built to bring our experience into a learning environment designed for the challenges organizations face now: artificial intelligence, workforce disruption, leadership readiness, talent risk, career transformation, and the growing need for accountable, human-centered decision-making.
Four Books
A body of thought built across two decades
Our work is grounded in a body of thought developed across four books written by founder Margaret Spence. Together, they reflect the evolution of our work. From helping organizations support injured employees and manage workplace risk, to helping women transform their leadership and careers, to preparing organizations to govern AI systems that increasingly shape decisions about people.
- From Workers' Comp Claimant to Valued Employee
- The Injury Management Challenge
- Leadership Self-Transformation
- When AI Breaks the Law, publishing August 2026
